Some Villanelle

She’s coming back
It’s a circle
Follow me
Like a dream
This time
Not all the time
It’s a circle
She’s coming back

It’s a line
She’s going on
Follow me
This time
Not all the time
Like a stream
She’s going on
It’s a line.

She’s here and now
It’s a constant
Stay with me
This time
Like a sea
Not all the time
It’s a constant
She’s here and now

It can’t be found
Like a breeze
It works fine
Like a scene
Yeah, all the time
This time
It is what it is, I think you’ll find
Accommodate it, let us make up our own damn minds

Long time no update, I've just moved house so have been too busy to do anything but unpack boxes (don't ask).

This isn't really a poem, it's a song written for music group I help run. I had to write 3 songs at 24 hours notice because a TV company wanted to film a session (they had copyright issues with cover versions, they told us at the last minute, sheesh!).

Not a hit single by any means but there is something about them that appeals to me (I think it might be because I didn't really think about it before I wrote them down and I refuse to edit - prefer the spontaneity).

I'll post the others if anyone likes this one (and I might even say what the chord structure is if anyone is interested).

Lay a liplock on me baby. I have so missed you. I was so so happy to see your post.

So how was the move and unpacking? I know wasn't suppose to ask but you know me ha.

I am very interested. I like the lyrics. Very nice.

You are such a busy guy.

Hi, Shy,

Good to see (read ;-)) you again.

This stuff was a major 'wing and a prayer' job. We didn't have any rehearsal time and the lass who sings with me had never heard the tunes before we had to perform them on camera.

All this was further complicated by the nature of the group (it's a day centre for vulnerable adults, a UK 'care in the community' thing). There is a vast range of technical ability and grasp of reality). It was major fun though.

The move went as expected, absolute nightmare. As it came 3 months late, my folks had arranged to go see my sister in NZ. I'm having a bungalow built for them in the grounds so I can look after them if they need it but still have their independence (and a wodge of cash, from the sale of their house, to fritter away in their old age).

They were meant to be away while the bungalow was being built but due to the timing they'll be back before the planning permission comes through. I had to sort out all their stuff too (I hope I haven't ballsed it up but I won't know 'til they get back later this month).

Still, when it's all done and dusted they'll have a decent standard of life and I'll be able to get the house arranged the way I want it (and throw wild, uncontrolled parties with Leah safely babysat with her Gran, nyuk! nyuk!).

Good to hear from you, have you seen Noki around?
